The Community Journal is a small weekly publication with one job: to celebrate a single member of a community, one story worth telling at a time. No noise, no numbers, just one person made to feel seen.
What it is
Every Friday we publish one feature about someone who quietly makes their corner of the world a little better. The person who runs the Saturday food club. The neighbour who checks the lights came on. The friend who crossed an ocean and now helps other people find their feet. Ordinary people, extraordinary in the ways that usually go unnoticed.
The one rule
You can only ever write about someone else, never yourself.
That is the whole idea. It turns the Journal into a chain of people lifting each other up, and it means the nicest part of being featured is knowing that someone chose to put you forward.
Nothing runs without a yes
When you nominate someone, we email them and ask their permission. If they say no, that is the end of it, no questions asked. If they say yes, an editor shapes the piece with care before it runs. As the writer you can be named, a small and open thank you, or you can stay anonymous.
Why we do it
This is not about clicks, search rankings or making money. It exists to make people feel appreciated, and to remind a community how much quiet good is happening within it. It is made with care by Haijahr.
