We keep this simple. The Community Journal uses only the cookies it needs to work and to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies, and we do not build profiles of you. Since these cookies are all strictly necessary, we do not need your consent to set them. We show a short notice the first time you visit, which you can dismiss, and we remember that you have (see below).
The cookies we use

Preferences kept in your browser
A couple of small preferences are stored in your browser's local storage, not as cookies, so they stay on your device and are never sent to us: cj-theme (your light or dark choice) and cj-cookie-ack (set when you dismiss the cookie notice, so we do not show it again).
Other sites
If you share a feature using the buttons on an article, the link takes you to that service (for example X, Facebook, LinkedIn or WhatsApp), which sets its own cookies under its own policy. We do not load any of their tracking scripts on our pages.
Managing cookies
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Since ours are essential, blocking them may stop parts of the site, such as signing in, from working.
